“Hi everyone! I'm Ivy - I’ve been with eName broker team for 7 years but there’s no way the ‘7-year itch’ may occur as I deeply love this career and love to work with all you around:-) The very experience I’d like to mention is Never forget why you started. Keep being energetic and learning everyday as you first entered this industry years ago. Domain industry is closely linked to tech & scientific trends. We see Blockchain and Crytocurrency surge these 2 years and how they strongly influence the domain types being registered and traded. Even price of Chinese CHIPs & Numeric domains floats. To a domain broker, it’s essential to keep abreast of the market changes. And then it is the harder, the luckier.”

“I’m particularly adept at buying domains from abroad for my clients, including many domestic giants like Qihoo 360, Wanda Group, Kingsoft, JD.COM, OPPO, Cheetah Mobile, etc. Due to time difference, it’s very common to negotiate with clients at midnight. For some urgent cases, I would nail down price with the seller abroad through several midnight calls. The efficiency to push things forward and get things done is the key to domain name business, otherwise domains could be grabbed by others quickly and we might just miss the opportunity. During these years I’ve brokered thousands of valuable domains and each of them has got their own story. Now I share some unforgettable domains with you and wish you like them.”
1.The most unforgettable seller
It was several years ago and the deal’s about a few thousand dollars. After a couple of back-and-forth negotiations, the foreign seller finally agreed to offer discount but insisted the buyer needed to make donation to CFPA(China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation) otherwise he won’t sell the domain. It was the first time I’ve ever met such special request and at that moment I was pretty touched and sure his kind heart would pay off in certain way in his life. And it turned out our buyer also readily accepted this request right away and offered the invoice from CFPA to the seller before long.
2.Domain + Trademark
It was a domain name which the foreign seller held out for pretty high price for. Through lengthy negotiations the seller finally agreed to make a small concession and mentioned the domain could be sold together with its corresponding trademark. And it happened that the buyer did need its trademark together so the deal was made. In the next month we were all waiting for the UK Trademark Office to approve the transfer of trademark and in the end it was a happy ending. This is my first and only transaction of Domain + Trademark for now, a special experience.
3.So.com
Yes we purchased this domain name from abroad on behalf of our client. The seller of So.com had got plenty of superb premium domains but kept silence at the beginning. Later on he responded but clearly expressed he’s not interested in selling it while the buyer remained in his sincerity and strong desire to acquire the domain. Under the circumstances I suggested the buyer gradually increase his offer until the seller finally nodded his head and closed the deal. Nothing’s impossible, as long as there’s right price.
4.Yhd.com
Yhd.com was used as the main website of a UK real estate company when I first tried to make offers for it. All replies were negative at the beginning but not a chance I would give up easily. It then was passed to their decision-making level and yes I got a chance to negotiate the price with them and finally closed the deal again for my client. From that we see still chances for domains with websites already built, still chances your offer hits domain owner’s spot. That’s also why I love this career, with such expectation and possibilities.
